Colors are used to indicate whether a particular package can record audio. But from the benchmarks I am seeing, I get the distinct impression they don't actually do much of a difference and the Arc still outperforms it. I know the gaming performance of the 7800 XT is almost identical to 6800 XT, but they added the 120 AI units to the new one. So, my dilemma is which of the two (RX 7800 XT or A770) performs better for image generation on Windows or Linux in general. Plus I saw that Intel have a sweet integration for image generation in GIMP. I was under the impression that the situation was similar with Arc, as well - image generation works better in Linux. I actually was aware that this is the case with AMD cards - Linux is recommended for AI related workloads, so I was basically coming into this with the idea I would be using Linux, anyway. Though, I imagine I'll have to switch to a rolling distro to get the most performance. Windows for games and Affinity Suite, Pop OS for everything else. PS I don't really get a lot of gaming time these days, but the RX 7800 XT performance does tempt me, don't get me wrong. But if they're similar or the RX 7800 XT has more potential to unlock, I'd probably get that now, live with the CPU bottleneck for a bit and then get a new processor at a later point. If Arc A770 is better in image generation, I'd probably just go with it and get a new CPU, as well. I was unable to find a direct comparison between the two following the latest driver update from Intel which supposedly booster performance quite a bit. I am curious about Stable Diffusion performance. If gaming was the decisive factor, I'd obviously go with the RX 7800 XT, but that is not the case. So, I am realistically looking at either A770, or RX 7800 XT. The Nvidia I prefer to pass due to the 12GB of VRAM and the fact it's only 192-bit memory interface, which from what I understand can be an issue with my PCI 3 mobo, in terms of performance. ![]() So, realistically, I have the following options:Īrc A770 16GB + a new CPU (probably 5700x) My budget can be stretched to about 550-600 EUR, at the absolute maximum. My venerable GTX 1080 is still capable of handling my giant backlog, but recently I've been thinking more and more about getting into Stable Diffusion, since I can see it being useful for work.
